Father Robert Le Gall began his monastic training at the abbey of Sainte-Anne de Kergonan in Brittany. After studying theology at the abbey of Soesmes, he was ordained a priest; he then took a masters degree in theology at Fribourg, Switzerland. On his return to France, he was made. Prior as well as Guest Master of Sainte-Anne’s. He was elected Abbot of Kergonan in 1983. In 2001 he was appointed Bishop of Mende, and he became Archbishop of Toulouse in 2006, before retiring in 2021. Father Le Gall is the author of many books examining Catholic liturgy and rituals, as well as the life of Saint Benedict.
