Jay Kelly

Jay Kelly, the new film from Academy Award nominee Noah Baumbach, follows famous
movie actor Jay Kelly (George Clooney) as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery,
confronting both his past and present, accompanied by his devoted manager, Ron
(Adam Sandler). Poignant and humor-filled, epic and intimate, Jay Kelly is pitched at the
intersection of life’s regrets and notable glories.

A testament to Noah Baumbach’s singular vision and deeply human storytelling, this book traces the extraordinary creative journey behind Jay Kelly—a film made possible by the remarkable community of artists Baumbach assembled. Its pages contain the full screenplay thoughtfully interwoven with evocative film stills that guide readers through the emotional progression of the narrative. Through intimate interviews, co-writers Baumbach and Emily Mortimer open the door to the writer’s room, sharing the challenges, flashes of genius, and quiet revelations that shaped each draft, each character, each scene. The creative chorus expands through reflections from producers David Heyman and Amy Pascal, production designer Mark Tildesley, cinematographer Linus Sandgren, costume designer Jacqueline Durran, composer Nicholas Britell, and others who helped translate a vision into reality. Enriched with behind-the-scenes film photography and on- set moments, this movie coffee table book becomes more than a companion to the film—it is a tribute to the art, labor, and wonder of making movies.
